Cosmetics Haul!

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I've been AWOL this week, I've been working in an office 8am-5pm everyday this week and have been so exhausted I couldn't even turn on my laptop! (Shocking, I know!)

Also, I've been trying to put off posting this post, as many of my purchases still haven't arrived so I've decided to split my massive haul into 2 sections! This post will be all about the new make-up, haircare and body stuff that I've purchased, and my next post will be all about clothes and accessories that I've purchased! Hope that's alright!

So, let's get started with the cosmetics!

Songs That Give Me The Feels: #2

Hello everyone!

Today I have another "Songs That Give Me The Feels" post! This is where I post a song recommendation, and say why it gives me the feels. Make sense? Good!

(If you missed my previous post in this series, you can read it here!)

I thought that my recommendation today would be from the Musical Theatre genre, as musicals were pretty much all I listened to growing up! Nowadays, I'm open to listening to anything and everything, but one genre that has stuck with me throughout the years has always been a good theatrical soundtrack!

Now, you're probably expecting to read some kind of story behind why I love this chosen song so much, but to be honest, there really isn't one. In future posts, there will be story upon story behind why my chosen songs mean a lot to me, but today's song has been chosen purely because of how stunning it is.

If there's something that you should know about me, it's that I am a major classical musical fan. Sure, I love all the new musicals out there such as Heathers The Musical, Ghost The Musical, even jukebox musicals like Rock of Ages! But there's just something about Rodgers & Hammerstein's work that just makes me feel all tingly inside. Carousel was actually the first musical that I ever performed in at age 5, playing the youngest of the Snow Children; since then, the work of Rodgers & Hammerstein have been an absolute favourite of mine.

Any child born in the 90's would have probably seen the VHS Movie version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella", starring Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother and Brandy as Cinderella. Growing up, this video tape was constantly on repeat in my house, as I loved the music, the costumes, the dance routines: all of it!

Still, to this day, I absolutely love it! But the most recent Broadway revival of the original R&H Cinderella in 2012 has taken over my love for the Brandy video version. First of all, Laura Osnes as Cinderella is literally one of the best casting choices to ever occur on Broadway! She was absolutely perfect in the role, and is literally a Disney Princess on her own. Also, Santino Fontana (who the majority of you will know is the voice of Prince Hans in Frozen!) has the voice of a God, and is wonderfully charming as Prince Topher, and together with Osnes, they are a dream.

Being the naughty musicals lover that I am, I was able to watch the entire show on YouTube a couple of years ago, and since then, the obsession has grown. Laura Osnes' series, "The Princess Diary" with Broadway.com's YouTube channel was the only thing I watched daily, as she took you behind the scenes with her and the hilarious cast of the Broadway revival. And I give many thanks to the lovely person who uploaded the entire soundtrack to YouTube, as I can now share with you the one song on the soundtrack that gives me all the feels.

As you've read above, I adore this show, so obviously I love every song on the soundtrack. However, the song "Loneliness of Evening", sung by Santino Fontana and Laura Osnes is by far my favourite. It's romantic, it's magical, the melody is just beautiful and it sounds as if it should of come straight off of a Disney soundtrack (and y'all know how much I love my Disney!). I'm also a massive fan of a big orchestra, which I believe is what the majority of new musicals are lacking. Hence why I adore R&H's work so much!

(If the video doesn't work, you can listen to this song and the rest of  the gorgeous soundtrack right here!)

And that's it! Hope you guys liked this post, and if you're a musicals fan, let me know what your favourite musical is down in the comments! And I will see you guys in my next post!

Fawce xoxo.

London Town!

Hello everyone!

I have literally just returned from a morning in lovely London, and thought I would do a quick post on it as it was a lovely four hours, in the glorious sunshine, and whilst walking through London, I really let my mind wander. So, let's get started!

UPDATE!

Hey guys!

I wanted to make a little post just to mention a few things. First things first, my trip to Bahrain has been postponed until later in the year due to a high level terror threat, and for safety purposes, it's not safe for 15 Brits to head out there at this time. Therefore, the packing series of posts will also be postponed until I actually go somewhere, as it's silly for me to write a post about something that's not actually happening.

I'm not going to lie to you guys, I am absolutely devastated. I know that sounds dramatic, but this week has been incredibly stressful for my family and I, and this just seems like the icing on the cake. And on a day when the world thinks of those effected by the 7/7 terrorist attacks in London 10 years ago, today is not only a sad day for me, but for the rest of the country also.

I was going to just delete my previous post on planning for packing and then re-upload it when I finally go away, but I don't know if there's any point in that? Let me know down below if you think I should or not.

This blog is dedicated to my lifestyle, which means that some days are going to be better than others. As I'm having a particularly bad week this week, I wanted to post about it. This is in no way a post to make anyone feel bad, it's more a post for me to just vent my feelings, because life isn't always so positive and happy. And I wanted to let you guys know, because I know a few of you reading were just as excited about my trip as I was, so of course, I wanted to be honest with you all and tell you what was going on.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened; something similar happened a year ago when we were supposed to go to Egypt and do Snow White there, but it got cancelled at the last minute. Meaning that all of our cast and crew were then without a job or income for that month, and those who had turned down work to do the show were in a very vulnerable state. You'd think by now I'd be used to it, as it's just the way it works out in the Middle East, but it brings new frustration and anger every time.

However, I am not going to dwell on it. I got over it a year ago, and I'll get over it this time too. The only issue was the money, as I am currently overdrawn, and need some money to pay the bills! But I'm a big believer in everything happens for a reason. Obviously, it's not safe for us to travel at this time, which I respect immensely. And who knows? Something better may come along!

Funnily enough, there were a lot of things I would've been missing if I had gone to Bahrain. For example, my best friend Tori's birthday, auditions for a summer workshop of the musical Cats with one of the best theatre groups ever, and my other best friend Amy's house-warming party! Also, my dance school's triumphs at the All England Dance Finals in London at the end of the month! Although I'll be missing out on money, doing what I love and a somewhat holiday abroad, I'll get to spend more time with the people that matter the most to me! And you know what they say: money doesn't buy happiness.

(Unless you desperately need it...like I do...but we won't think about that right now!)

I've had a good cry about the negative things that have happened this week, I've let it all out in this blog post. Now, it's time to move forward! Posts may become a bit sporadic this month, as like I said, life has been a bit stressful! But that's what this blog is all about! It isn't called "Life According To Fawce (but only the happy bits!)". This is my life, this is what it's all about. And like I said in previous posts, I try to stay positive as much as I can, but sometimes life can be very unfair and you need to have a little bit of time to recover. Which is what I'm doing today.

This blog is very important to me, and it's what keeps me positive during times like this! And I hope you guys understand. You all mean a lot to me, and I'm incredibly grateful to my followers for being so lovely and positive. (Even if there are so few of you, you may be tiny, but you are mighty!). Hopefully next week will be a bit brighter, and it'll all work out!

So much love for you all reading! And I will see you guys next time!

Pack With Fawce: Planning!

Hey guys!

As I leave for my trip to Bahrain early Thursday morning, I have already begun to plan what I need to take with me! As I'm going for 16 days, I wanted to make sure I had enough essentials to take with me, so that I didn't panic last minute...like I do every other time I pack.

So, first of all, I needed to think about the place in which I was going, and what I was doing whilst there. As I am going there to do a show, the majority of my time will be spent rehearsing inside a hotel ballroom, but once the show begins, I'll then have free time to explore the lovely land of Bahrain, and spend some time in the glorious sunshine! However, I also need to consider the culture out there, as all shoulders and knees must be covered at all times regardless. Kind of a bugger when it's over 40 degrees! But still, you have to respect the culture! Therefore, no shorts for me!

Once I considered all that, I decided it would be best to write down a specific check list so that when it came to packing on Wednesday, I wouldn't panic and just chuck everything in! (Again, like I normally do!)

I tried to narrow it down as much as I possibly could, considering my outfit choices; thinking about outfits I had worn in similarly cultured countries, and trying to remember what I did and didn't wear before! Two pages to me doesn't seem like a lot, but to some of you, you probably think I'm going to overpack...and you're probably right!

The difficult thing is that I'm not packing for a holiday! I'm packing for work, so I can't include several pairs of sandals, shorts, play-suits and dresses! One maxi dress is all I can wear that is considered a "holiday" item! Instead, I need to pack trainers, leggings and tops to wear for rehearsals!

Once my list was complete (for now!), I decided to sort through my makeup. As I'm flying at 8am in the morning, I would like to take a small makeup bag with my essentials in so I can do my makeup on the plane, but because I'm going out there to do a show, I needed a seperate makeup bag filled with all of my stage makeup! It took me about an hour to finally narrow down the essentials for my little makeup bag, and to decide which eye shadow palette to take with me! For me, the Naked 1 palette is perfect, as it has all basic neutrals with darker shades to create any look you want! (Although, I am also taking the MUA Eye Shadow Palette "Glamour Nights" for my stage makeup!) For my extra makeup bits for my Snow White make-up look, I found this small black carry-case that will easily hold all of my lip products, fake eyelashes and spares in case I run out of anything during my trip!

My small Zoella Beauty make-up bag, filled with all my basic makeup for the flight.

My Urban Decay Naked palette (my everyday palette!)
I decided to pack some of my toiletries in a big wash bag (that used to be my old makeup bag!), including travel sized shampoos, conditioner and toothpaste! I won't show you everything that I'm taking, as some of it is a bit TMI, but you guys can probably guess which toiletries I'm taking with me!

The black bag on the left is full of stage makeup, and the colourful stamp wash bag is filled with toiletries.

(On the plane, I will be separating all of my makeup which are liquids into a clear bag for security purposes. I will also probably put some skincare items in there also!)

Finishing off my planning for today, I decided to put some accessories in a little bag to take with me! I decided to take two necklaces, one choker and one simple/statement necklace in silver, so it will literally go with any outfit! I also put in a couple of scrunchies with bow detail, just a add a little something to a ponytail or a top knot in rehearsals!

Taking a look at my list, I also narrowed down specifically which multiple items I will be taking, such as which pairs of sunglasses and which checked shirts I will take with me, and so on. However, I won't get them out and sorted until it's time to pack!

And that's my planning done! The next stage is actually packing everything into a suitcase! AHHH!

I hope you guys liked this post! It's a bit of a different one! Haha! But I will see you guys on Wednesday with a packing post!

Fawce xoxo.
