OK. I have a confession. I am OBSESSED with liquid lipsticks. It's become an actual problem.
What doesn't help is the fact that my local Boots now stocks NYX Cosmetics! A brand that I have been wanting to try out for the longest time! You can imagine my excitement when I saw that their soft matte lip creams were only £5.50 each! So, like any true beauty lover, I bought three of them. Yes. Three. My bank account hates me right now.
I decided on purchasing three completely different shades that would all suit my pale skin tone and blonde hair, and would suit various occasions. Funnily enough, there were a couple of shades that were out of stock that I really wanted, so I may have to go back and check every time I visit Boots. Like I said, my bank account HATES ME.
The shades I purchased were No. 8 "San Paulo", No. 10 "Monte Carlo" and No. 20 "Copenhagen".
So, this post will be a quick one today, as I have something that I want to tell you all.
My lovely friend Anna, who is a radio presenter on CSRfm is doing something incredible this Friday from 9am till 9pm! She is doing a 12 HOUR RADIO CHALLENGE! All for the charity Make-a-Wish Foundation UK! The longest she has ever done radio for is 3 hours, so this is going to be a heck of a challenge for her, and it would really mean a lot to me if you guys could listen in and donate to her Just Giving page, as her target is £1000! It's a wonderful charity and they deserve every penny! And she's only half way there!
Not only will it be Anna chatting away for 12 hours straight, there will also be interviews with a variety of guests, challenges, prizes, and some amazing live performances! This girl is absolutely incredible, and as a listener myself, I can guarantee you won't be disappointed!
I'm incredibly excited especially as she has interviewed YOURS TRULY! That's right! I am one of her 12 guests on her show, and the conversations we had during my interview were pretty hilarious! In her own words, I shared some pretty funny and shocking stories about my life as a professional princess! And it would really mean a lot to me if you guys could tune in and listen!
Even if you live far away from the UK, you can still tune in online at CSRfm.com, and if you miss any interview, do not worry, as she will be playing various interviews twice throughout the day!
My interview will be played at 3:15pm (UK Time!), but do listen in throughout the day for some amazing interviews and fab performances by some of my good friends!
You can donate some money right here at her Just Giving page! Even if it's just £1! Even if you live abroad! Every penny counts! And you can like her Facebook page at Anna Louise Radio, and follow her on Twitter at @AnnaLouiseRadio! I wouldn't push you guys to donate if it wasn't important, but this is going to be a seriously difficult challenge for Anna, and she deserves all the support in the world! Plus, you might even win a prize!
(You can have a cheeky listen to some clips from Anna's previous shows right here on Soundcloud!)
I've known Anna for a few years now, and I am so incredibly proud of her for taking on such a challenge! So tune in this Friday at CSRfm.com, from 9am to 9pm, and get involved today!
Welcome to another installment of Songs That Give Me The Feels! Today, we're going to rewind to 2009, when I was experiencing my "emo" phase. Yes. This is going to be really embarrassing.
If you read my post called "Photographer Extraordinaire", you will know that when I was around 14 years old, I went through my "random, emo" phase; the time when I was obsessed with The Twilight Saga, indie music, and thought I was some deep, meaningful creator of exquisite photographs. Really, I was just experimenting with what I wanted in life, which is totally allowed, even if it would make me cringe later on in life. Everyone goes through that awkward year of changing who you are to see if that certain personality fits you better than your old one. Thankfully, this one only lasted a couple of years for me. But it resulted in endless torture from my friends and family who remind me of those dark times regularly.
14 Year Old me...such a rocker.
Just so you all know, I am full on cringing writing this post for you all! I give you full permission to judge me! Haha!
So, September is here, the temperature has dropped immensely, and the leaves are turning brown, and I personally couldn't be more excited!
Of course, Spring and Summer are absolutely beautiful, and nobody can fault the lovely sunshine, the warm weather and the opportunity to actually give a pale complexion a touch of a tan! But to me, the Autumn and Winter months are my absolute favourite, and today, I'm going to tell you exactly why!
Here we go! My 10 reasons why I'm excited for Autumn!
Apologies for being so out of the blogisphere recently, life has been a bit crazy! So, for today's post I thought it would be fun to do a tag of some sort! And with it being the summertime, and everyone is chilling out and taking it easy, what better tag to do than the NETFLIX TAG!
Hey guys! As promised, I have the second half of my mahoosive haul for you guys today! And this time it's all about clothes and accessories! So, let's get started!
So, I thought it was about time I did another review on my blog, because I have only ever done one review before, and it was a while ago. Wow, that sounded super boring. But let's get started!
Hey guys! I'm so sorry I've been AWOL this week, I've been working in an office 8am-5pm everyday this week and have been so exhausted I couldn't even turn on my laptop! (Shocking, I know!)
Also, I've been trying to put off posting this post, as many of my purchases still haven't arrived so I've decided to split my massive haul into 2 sections! This post will be all about the new make-up, haircare and body stuff that I've purchased, and my next post will be all about clothes and accessories that I've purchased! Hope that's alright!
Hey guys! Today I want to share with you my top 5 remedies for making yourself feel better!
As you guys are aware, life has been pretty unfair on me these last couple of weeks; I won't go into details, but let's just say that these 5 things definitely made me feel a lot better!
Today I have another "Songs That Give Me The Feels" post! This is where I post a song recommendation, and say why it gives me the feels. Make sense? Good!
(If you missed my previous post in this series, you can read it here!)
I thought that my recommendation today would be from the Musical Theatre genre, as musicals were pretty much all I listened to growing up! Nowadays, I'm open to listening to anything and everything, but one genre that has stuck with me throughout the years has always been a good theatrical soundtrack!
Now, you're probably expecting to read some kind of story behind why I love this chosen song so much, but to be honest, there really isn't one. In future posts, there will be story upon story behind why my chosen songs mean a lot to me, but today's song has been chosen purely because of how stunning it is.
If there's something that you should know about me, it's that I am a major classical musical fan. Sure, I love all the new musicals out there such as Heathers The Musical, Ghost The Musical, even jukebox musicals like Rock of Ages! But there's just something about Rodgers & Hammerstein's work that just makes me feel all tingly inside. Carousel was actually the first musical that I ever performed in at age 5, playing the youngest of the Snow Children; since then, the work of Rodgers & Hammerstein have been an absolute favourite of mine.
Any child born in the 90's would have probably seen the VHS Movie version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella", starring Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother and Brandy as Cinderella. Growing up, this video tape was constantly on repeat in my house, as I loved the music, the costumes, the dance routines: all of it!
Still, to this day, I absolutely love it! But the most recent Broadway revival of the original R&H Cinderella in 2012 has taken over my love for the Brandy video version. First of all, Laura Osnes as Cinderella is literally one of the best casting choices to ever occur on Broadway! She was absolutely perfect in the role, and is literally a Disney Princess on her own. Also, Santino Fontana (who the majority of you will know is the voice of Prince Hans in Frozen!) has the voice of a God, and is wonderfully charming as Prince Topher, and together with Osnes, they are a dream.
Being the naughty musicals lover that I am, I was able to watch the entire show on YouTube a couple of years ago, and since then, the obsession has grown. Laura Osnes' series, "The Princess Diary" with Broadway.com's YouTube channel was the only thing I watched daily, as she took you behind the scenes with her and the hilarious cast of the Broadway revival. And I give many thanks to the lovely person who uploaded the entire soundtrack to YouTube, as I can now share with you the one song on the soundtrack that gives me all the feels.
As you've read above, I adore this show, so obviously I love every song on the soundtrack. However, the song "Loneliness of Evening", sung by Santino Fontana and Laura Osnes is by far my favourite. It's romantic, it's magical, the melody is just beautiful and it sounds as if it should of come straight off of a Disney soundtrack (and y'all know how much I love my Disney!). I'm also a massive fan of a big orchestra, which I believe is what the majority of new musicals are lacking. Hence why I adore R&H's work so much!
(If the video doesn't work, you can listen to this song and the rest of the gorgeous soundtrack right here!)
And that's it! Hope you guys liked this post, and if you're a musicals fan, let me know what your favourite musical is down in the comments! And I will see you guys in my next post!
I have literally just returned from a morning in lovely London, and thought I would do a quick post on it as it was a lovely four hours, in the glorious sunshine, and whilst walking through London, I really let my mind wander. So, let's get started!
As I leave for my trip to Bahrain early Thursday morning, I have already begun to plan what I need to take with me! As I'm going for 16 days, I wanted to make sure I had enough essentials to take with me, so that I didn't panic last minute...like I do every other time I pack.
So, first of all, I needed to think about the place in which I was going, and what I was doing whilst there. As I am going there to do a show, the majority of my time will be spent rehearsing inside a hotel ballroom, but once the show begins, I'll then have free time to explore the lovely land of Bahrain, and spend some time in the glorious sunshine! However, I also need to consider the culture out there, as all shoulders and knees must be covered at all times regardless. Kind of a bugger when it's over 40 degrees! But still, you have to respect the culture! Therefore, no shorts for me!
Once I considered all that, I decided it would be best to write down a specific check list so that when it came to packing on Wednesday, I wouldn't panic and just chuck everything in! (Again, like I normally do!)
I tried to narrow it down as much as I possibly could, considering my outfit choices; thinking about outfits I had worn in similarly cultured countries, and trying to remember what I did and didn't wear before! Two pages to me doesn't seem like a lot, but to some of you, you probably think I'm going to overpack...and you're probably right!
The difficult thing is that I'm not packing for a holiday! I'm packing for work, so I can't include several pairs of sandals, shorts, play-suits and dresses! One maxi dress is all I can wear that is considered a "holiday" item! Instead, I need to pack trainers, leggings and tops to wear for rehearsals!
Once my list was complete (for now!), I decided to sort through my makeup. As I'm flying at 8am in the morning, I would like to take a small makeup bag with my essentials in so I can do my makeup on the plane, but because I'm going out there to do a show, I needed a seperate makeup bag filled with all of my stage makeup! It took me about an hour to finally narrow down the essentials for my little makeup bag, and to decide which eye shadow palette to take with me! For me, the Naked 1 palette is perfect, as it has all basic neutrals with darker shades to create any look you want! (Although, I am also taking the MUA Eye Shadow Palette "Glamour Nights" for my stage makeup!) For my extra makeup bits for my Snow White make-up look, I found this small black carry-case that will easily hold all of my lip products, fake eyelashes and spares in case I run out of anything during my trip!
My small Zoella Beauty make-up bag, filled with all my basic makeup for the flight.
My Urban Decay Naked palette (my everyday palette!)
I decided to pack some of my toiletries in a big wash bag (that used to be my old makeup bag!), including travel sized shampoos, conditioner and toothpaste! I won't show you everything that I'm taking, as some of it is a bit TMI, but you guys can probably guess which toiletries I'm taking with me!
The black bag on the left is full of stage makeup, and the colourful stamp wash bag is filled with toiletries.
(On the plane, I will be separating all of my makeup which are liquids into a clear bag for security purposes. I will also probably put some skincare items in there also!)
Finishing off my planning for today, I decided to put some accessories in a little bag to take with me! I decided to take two necklaces, one choker and one simple/statement necklace in silver, so it will literally go with any outfit! I also put in a couple of scrunchies with bow detail, just a add a little something to a ponytail or a top knot in rehearsals!
Taking a look at my list, I also narrowed down specifically which multiple items I will be taking, such as which pairs of sunglasses and which checked shirts I will take with me, and so on. However, I won't get them out and sorted until it's time to pack!
And that's my planning done! The next stage is actually packing everything into a suitcase! AHHH!
I hope you guys liked this post! It's a bit of a different one! Haha! But I will see you guys on Wednesday with a packing post!
Hey guys, a bit of a random post today, but one that I think you all will enjoy.
Music is a big part of our lives, whether it's what gets you pumped up, or what mellows you out; music can give us feelings that we didn't even realise existed. Such as remorse, joy, excitement, or in my case for this song I'm about to mention...ALL THE FEELS.
As music is a big part of my life, I wanted to introduce a new post series on my blog that includes music recommendations. I'll only mention one song per post, and it'll be from any genre and each song will have special significance to it. Today's song is all about feeling wistful, light, and remembering our childhood.
HOLD ON, HOLD ON, DON'T CLICK OFF JUST YET!
I wanted to make a post on my blog for a long time about childhood, and how different my childhood was when I was, well, a child, compared to children today; it involved a lot less iPads. I don't want to sound like one of those people who suggest that technology has ruined our lives, and that children nowadays are having a mediocre childhood compared to us old folk, I merely want to express my love for my own childhood. Back when I would stay up till 3AM on Christmas Eve to see Father Christmas, back when I would deliberately try to pull my own teeth out just to see the Tooth Fairy, back when I would spend more time outside playing games with my friends, using my imagination to it's fullest and feeling that I was wild and untamed (until my mum would call for me to come back inside the house).
Baby Georgia (age 3!)
About a year ago, I watched one of the most wonderful films that I had seen in a long time, called Rise Of The Guardians. If you've seen the film yourself, you will know exactly why I think it's so wonderful. For those of you who have no clue what the film is, or what it's about, it's basically all about children and their beliefs in things they cannot see. The film itself centers around the illusive figure of Jack Frost, a young spirit known for causing trouble with his icy powers, who is unseen by the children of the world as they don't believe in him. Along with the magical creatures and figures we loved when we were children, such as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and the Sandman, they protect the children of the world and their beliefs from the haunting and malicious Pitch Black, who wants the children of the world to believe in him, and only him. When trouble strikes, the Guardians enlist Jack Frost to join their team of guardians and once and for all, defeat the evil Pitch Black.
I hope that makes sense, no spoilers here!
There are many reasons as to why I loved this film so much, for one the animation is astounding, and the voice acting is superb by Chris Pine, Hugh Jackman and Jude Law (to name a few!). The film is also based on the wonderful books written by William Joyce. And here's a little fact about me you probably didn't know, and that is that I am OBSESSED with film scores. I love them, and Alexandre Desplat (the score composer of this film) is one of my favourite composers of all time. The music for this film is mesmerizing, captivating, and certainly will make you feel all the feels.
As much as I love the soundtrack, there was one song on it that really made me, well, tear up...a lot...OK I BALLED MY EYES OUT! It's the only song on the soundtrack with lyrics, sung by the astonishing Renee Fleming, and the entire song is just breathtaking. It's called "Still Dream", and was written by David Lindsay-Abaire and Alexandre Desplat.
The song conjured up many emotions within me, ranging from joy to complete heartache over my lost childhood. The song also inspired hope within me, to stay positive and to remember the little things in life. And it is, without a doubt, one of my all time favourite songs. My inner choreographer is just dying to create a dance piece to it! It's just beautiful, and I really recommend you guys give it a listen.
(If the video clip inserted doesn't work, you can listen to it here!)
And that is my first song recommendation! Do let me know if you think this is a good idea or not, I just felt like trying something different! And comment down below a song that makes you feel all the feels! I will see you next time!
As the sunshine is finally making an appearance here in the UK, I thought I would do a nice, summery post for you guys today! And as I recently have become obsessed with nail polish again, I thought I would show you guys my top nail polishes for Summer from one of my favourite brands: Barry M! Here we go!
Hello, all! June is here, which means it's time for my May Favourites!
I have been loving a lot of stuff this month, and they're a little all over the place, so I should probably stop rambling on, and get to it as we may be here all night! So, here are my faves!
Even though the weather hasn't been too great this week in the UK, I'm still sticking to my positive Sunny thoughts this week! So, here are my positive things that have happened this week!
Hey guys, bit of a quick little post today! As, I'm a little bit late with this one...
So, basically, on the 23rd of May, the Legoland theme park in Windsor, UK premiered their new land on site, including new characters and a new show that would be premiering also! The show itself is called "LEGO Friends to the Rescue!" and features all 5 of the LEGO Friends (Andrea, Stephanie, Emma, Mia and Olivia), with awesome songs and slick routines! Now, you're probably thinking, what does this have to do with me?
Well, that's why today's post is gonna be short, but sweet!
One of my closest friends, back when we were sharing a room together on a job in Muscat, was stressing out to the maximum, as she had just heard that she had got a job at Legoland to perform as one or more of the LEGO Friends, in their new show premiering in May! You can only imagine what it was like in our hotel room, cramming her on information about each LEGO Friend she was to play (did you know Mia loves animals? And Emma's motto is "That's SO you!"), and seeing her panic about the routines she needed to know by the end of our job...which also involved technical routines!
But now that the show has premiered, and she is killing it in Legoland Windsor, I urge all of you to go and see the LEGO Friends in Heartlake City, because not only is the show amazing, but all of these girls are super talented and are truly friendly, lovely people.
So, this is my good luck/well done wish to one of the most gorgeous, talented, loveliest girls I have the pleasure of knowing! And here's to a successful run in Heartlake City!
Today, I thought I would do another quick review about a makeup product this week, as I believe this product is new to the drugstore, and its a product that I am currently LOVING!
It's the Miss Sporty Lash Millionaire All in 1 (False Lash Effect) Mascara!
